Ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United to join Real Madrid, Wayne Rooney has become the team’s best attacking player and a strong motivator. Noticing the facts, former Premier League top scorer Alan Shearer commented on Rooney’s position in Manchester United.
“(Without him) they wouldn’t be at their current position” said Shearer as quoted by ESPN Star. Shearer’s comment is not without base; Rooney has been fantastic for the entire team this season, motivating players and coordinating attacks while focusing on breaking the opposing team’s defense line at the same time.
Wayne Rooney doesn’t really have ambitions of his own. The last few interviews showed clearly how Rooney is putting the team above everything else. He is highly motivated to bring Manchester United to the top of Premier League and keep the team there.
Rooney scored no less than 19 goals so far. He is also topping the current Premier League top scorers list. Several media are reporting how Manchester United stroke a deal with Rooney to keep this amazing player with the team, along with a staggering weekly paycheck and other benefits.
Wayne Rooney is now 24 years old; he still has a lot in ahead of him for sure, although his current priority is to keep Manchester United competitive against top contenders, Arsenal and Chelsea. These three teams are competing closely at the top of Premier League with mere several points gap between them. Last victory brought MU back to being the league’s leader, but Arsenal is lurking closely with one upcoming match to play.
